Alhaji (Hon). Ogunremi Abeeb Ademola has officially declared his interest in contesting for the position of Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government and submitted his letter of intent to the party executives.
Speaking during the declaration, Hon. Ogunremi acknowledged the leadership of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, for their contributions to the development of the party and the local government.
He also commended the party chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun, alongside members of the executive committee, before formally presenting his letter of intent to the party leadership.
Highlighting his contributions to the party, Ogunremi stated that he was the only State House of Assembly aspirant who remained committed to the party after the election process in 2019 and 2023, He recalled serving as Director General in charge of State House of Assembly campaign and later as Director General of the campaign for Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo.
According to him, his visit was to seek the support of the local government executives in his quest to become the next Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government,he assured party members that if elected, he would work diligently to strengthen the party and provide quality leadership for the benefit of the people and the party.
The Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Women Leader of Ibadan North East Local Government also praised Ogunremi for his loyalty to the party, they noted that he has always placed the party’s interests above personal considerations and expressed confidence in his competence, experience, and qualifications for the position,they also offered prayers for his success.
Speaking on behalf of the party leadership, the party Chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun, commended Hon. Ogunremi for his courage and support for the party despite not having been adequately rewarded for his contributions over the years,he also praised his generosity and described him as one of the pillars of the party in Ibadan North East Local Government.
Fatokun further highlighted Ogunremi’s exceptional commitment to the party, recalling that even after the painful loss of his wife during the campaign period, he returned to the field just three days later to continue campaigning and mobilizing support for the party, According to the chairman, this demonstrated remarkable dedication, sacrifice and loyalty to the party’s cause.
He prayed that Ogunremi would find favour among party leaders and stakeholders as he pursues his chairmanship ambition.
Alhaji Ogunremi was accompanied by several party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, including the Chairman of Ward Chairmen in Ibadan North East Local Government, Ward 7 Chairman, youth leader,Zonal Leader,2 former Councillors and host of others.
Their presence underscored the widespread support and goodwill enjoyed by Hon. Ogunremi Abeeb Ademola within the party as he seeks the chairmanship ticket for Ibadan North East Local Government.
