The attention of the APM leadership and stakeholders in Akinyele Local Government has been drawn to the publication emanating from the office of former *Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Amb Taofeek Arapaja*, claiming that he received an “Akinyele APM delegation.” *This is false and politically misleading*. The individuals paraded in that publication are not members of the *APM in Akinyele Local Government; their political affiliation is with the Wike-aligned faction of the PDP.* Dressing up PDP members as APM members for the purpose of generating a political headline does not change the facts on the ground.
Perhaps Amb Arapaja needs to be reminded that *Akinyele is not a political laboratory where narratives can be manufactured to suit whoever is sitting in a political office*. The APM in Akinyele is solid, structured and increasingly expanding across the wards. The party has continued to receive genuine political actors and grassroots supporters from different political platforms. Those who are joining the APM are known, their wards are known and their political histories are known. So, if there is a genuine political realignment, there is no need to manufacture one. *Facts speak louder than press releases.*
If Amb Arapaja is desperate to sell his political relevance to whoever is willing to buy it, or to position himself favourably with interests around Zach Adedeji, that is his political calculation. But he should not drag Akinyele into that transaction by spreading misinformation about the APM. *Akinyele is not for sale, and its political reality cannot be rewritten from outside*. Rather than manufacturing imaginary defections in Akinyele, the former Deputy Governor should concentrate on fixing whatever political challenges exist within his own political backyard.
*Akinyele is not Arapaja’s playground. It is not a theatre for political propaganda, political misdemeanour or manufactured relevance*. Those who work in the grassroots know the truth, and the people are watching. The APM remains firmly on ground, its structure remains intact, and its doors remain open to genuine political realignment. *2027 will not be decided by propaganda from political offices; it will be decided by the people and the structures that genuinely exist among them.*
