Professor Taoheed Adedoja, Co-Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Aspirants’ Reconciliation Committee in Oyo State, has disclosed that members of the committee visited the Minister of Power, Chief Olatunbosun Tegbe, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.
According to a statement shared by Adedoja on Facebook, the visit took place on Monday, September 28, 2026, and formed part of the committee’s ongoing efforts to reconcile stakeholders and bring members back together ahead of the 2027 political season.
Adedoja wrote that he attended the courtesy visit alongside other members of the committee. In the photograph accompanying his post, he identified those present as Rt. Hon. Dr. Akin Onigbinde, SAN; Alhaji Isiaka Alimi; Dr. Ismail Adebayo Adewusi; Pa Timothy Jolaosho; Prof. Taoheed Adedoja; Chief Olatunbosun Tegbe; Senator Femi Lanlehin; Her Excellency Mrs. Kemi Alao-Akala; former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Olalekan Ismael S. Ali; Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi Adejare; and Rt. Hon. Olagunju Ojo.
The visit, however, has generated questions among some commentators on social media, particularly about its connection with the committee’s stated reconciliation mandate.
One commenter asked, “Where are the aggrieved? Cos I don’t understand what this is for,” apparently questioning whether the meeting directly involved those who have publicly expressed grievances following the APC governorship primary.
Another asked, “Is Tegbe part of the aggrieved? Is this not a misplace of priority?” A similar comment simply stated, “Is Tegbe aggrieved?”
Another participant appeared more cautious, writing, “I don’t want to talk because of my Oga Senator Femi Lanlehin,” before suggesting that the visit could have been for another purpose apart from reconciliation.
The reactions come against the background of the reconciliation committee’s earlier engagements with Oyo APC governorship aspirants.
The committee was established after the party’s governorship primary and is co-chaired by Senator Olufemi Lanlehin and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja. Reports in July said the committee held consultations with several aspirants, including Rauf Olaniyan, Asatola Asanke, Ololade Bakare, Hakeem Alao and Ayobami Lam-Adesina.
The reconciliation process subsequently recorded agreements involving Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the party’s governorship candidate, and several former aspirants. The Nation reported in August that Rauf Olaniyan, Oyedele Hakeem Alao, Prince Musbau Asanike and Ololade Bakare had agreed to work with Alli following the committee’s intervention.
Despite those developments, questions have continued to surround the extent of the reconciliation process and whether all dissatisfied stakeholders have been brought into the process. A report in August also indicated that some aggrieved aspirants were absent when the committee submitted its report.
The latest Facebook post has therefore prompted some party observers to ask why the committee’s engagement with Tegbe was described within the context of reconciliation and whether other aggrieved members remain to be contacted.
One commenter summed up the concern by asking: “Where are other aggrieved party members? The Committee has great job to do.”
The comments reflect questions from individual social-media users and do not establish that the visit was unrelated to the committee’s reconciliation mandate. Adedoja’s post itself did not state that Tegbe was an aggrieved governorship aspirant or that the meeting was exclusively about the governorship primary.
For now, the significance of the meeting remains a subject of public discussion, while the committee continues its broader efforts to promote cohesion within the Oyo APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
