Rivers Crisis Deepens: Wike’s Aide Olayinka Slams Dele Momodu Over PDP Rift

In a recent development within Nigeria's political landscape, Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued a stern rebuke to Dele Momodu, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Olayinka's critique centers on Momodu's recent comments regarding the political tensions between Wike and Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara. 

Taking to his Facebook page, Olayinka accused Momodu of being an "emergency Atiku's man," referencing Momodu's allegiance to former PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. He questioned Momodu's silence during previous constitutional breaches in Rivers State, particularly when the state government operated with only three House of Assembly members to pass budgets and screen commissioners. 

Olayinka further highlighted a recent intervention by President Bola Tinubu, which led to an understanding between the conflicting parties. He criticized Governor Fubara for allegedly undermining this agreement through court actions and accused Momodu of overlooking these developments in his critiques. Olayinka concluded by advising Momodu to exercise discernment in his criticisms, stating, "If someone at the level of Egbon Dele Momodu must criticise, he will do so with sense." 

This exchange underscores the escalating tensions within the PDP and raises questions about internal party dynamics and loyalty.
