Edo Police Raid Hotel, Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect and Recover Weapons in Benin City

The Edo State Police Command has apprehended a suspected armed robber and recovered multiple weapons during a targeted operation at Kendrona Hotel in Benin City. This raid is part of the command's ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities across the state.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the command's Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, the operation was conducted by the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Unit of the State Criminal Investigations Department. Acting on credible intelligence, officers raided the hotel located off Country Home Road on May 13, 2025.

During the operation, one suspect was arrested, while four others managed to escape. The police recovered four vehicles and an assortment of arms and ammunition from the scene. A manhunt has been launched to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

CSP Yamu emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining security and urged residents to report any suspicious activities to the authorities. He reiterated the command's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens in Edo State.
