Renewed Hope Agenda: Tinubu Administration Highlights Progress on Campaign Promises as Implementation Continues
The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that it has made significant progress in delivering on the commitments outlined in its Renewed Hope Manifesto, with many campaign promises already implemented and several others at advanced stages of execution.
According to information released by the PBAT Media Centre, numerous pledges made during the 2023 presidential campaign have either been fulfilled or are actively being implemented through a series of reforms, policies, and infrastructure projects introduced since President Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023.
The media centre published a breakdown of key manifesto promises alongside their current implementation status, maintaining that the administration has remained committed to translating its campaign agenda into measurable actions across critical sectors of the Nigerian economy.
The Renewed Hope Agenda focuses on eight major priority areas, including economic growth, national security, agriculture and food security, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, social welfare, and governance. Since taking office, the Tinubu administration has launched several policy initiatives aimed at addressing long-standing structural challenges while laying the foundation for sustainable national development.
Among the flagship initiatives frequently highlighted by the Federal Government are the removal of fuel subsidy, the unification of Nigeria's foreign exchange market, the implementation of the Student Loan Scheme, ongoing tax reform efforts, increased investments in agricultural mechanisation, road construction projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, and expanded interventions in healthcare and social investment programmes. The government argues that these reforms, although initially accompanied by economic hardship, are designed to restore macroeconomic stability, improve public finances, attract investment, and create long-term economic opportunities.
The administration has also pointed to improvements in government revenue, increased foreign exchange reserves, enhanced security operations against terrorism and crude oil theft, as well as renewed investments in transportation, housing, and industrial development as indicators of progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
President Tinubu has consistently maintained that his administration remains focused on fulfilling the mandate entrusted to it by Nigerians. Speaking recently through Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the President reaffirmed that the difficult economic reforms introduced by his government are intended to build a stronger and more prosperous nation, assuring citizens that his administration would remain committed to delivering on its promises.
The PBAT Media Centre noted that while several manifesto commitments have already been completed, work continues on others that require legislative backing, long-term infrastructure investments, or phased implementation. It maintained that the administration remains on course to achieve additional objectives before the end of its tenure.
However, independent assessments have offered varying perspectives on the pace of implementation. Some civic organisations acknowledge progress in areas such as education reforms and selected economic policies, while arguing that other commitments remain partially fulfilled or outstanding. These differing assessments reflect ongoing public debate over the overall implementation of the Renewed Hope Manifesto.
Nevertheless, the Federal Government continues to insist that its reform agenda is producing measurable results and that the long-term benefits of its policies will become increasingly evident as implementation progresses.
