NIGERIA @66: YERIMA CALLS FOR UNITY, HOPE AND RENEWED COMMITMENT TO A GREATER NATION

Ona Ara Legislative Leader Celebrates Nigerians, Says the Future Belongs to a United and Purpose-Driven Generation

As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, the Leader of the Ona Ara Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Oluwafemi Abolade Gabriel (Yerima), has extended warm felicitations to Nigerians at home and abroad, calling for renewed patriotism, unity, responsible citizenship and collective commitment to national development.

In his Independence Day goodwill message, Hon. Oluwafemi Abolade Gabriel (Yerima) described October 1 as more than a date on the national calendar, noting that the anniversary provides an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the country's journey, appreciate its resilience and renew their commitment to building a nation where every citizen can have hope for a better future.

According to Yerima, Nigeria's greatest strength remains its people, particularly the young and energetic population whose creativity, enterprise and determination continue to contribute to the nation's growth despite the challenges confronting the country.

He emphasized the importance of empowering young people with quality education, relevant skills, opportunities for entrepreneurship and meaningful participation in community and national development.

“Our Strength Is in Our Unity” — Yerima

Yerima called on Nigerians to place the collective interest of the nation above ethnic, religious, political and other differences, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved when citizens work together for the common good.

He also urged political leaders, community leaders, traditional institutions, professionals, business owners and young Nigerians to continue contributing positively to the development of their communities.

For the grassroots politician and community-focused legislator, the progress of Nigeria must begin from the communities where citizens live, work and raise their families.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote youth development, grassroots empowerment, inclusive leadership, community advancement and opportunities for the younger generation.

A Message of Hope to Ona Ara and Nigeria

Addressing residents of Ona Ara Local Government and Nigerians generally, Yerima urged citizens not to lose faith in the country's potential.

He said Nigeria's journey over the past 66 years has demonstrated the resilience of its people and that the responsibility of building the Nigeria of tomorrow belongs to everyone.

He further encouraged young Nigerians to remain focused, acquire useful skills, embrace entrepreneurship, pursue education and participate actively in the development of their communities.

«“As we celebrate 66 years of our nation's independence, let us remember that the Nigeria we desire begins with the commitment each of us makes to building a better society. Let us choose unity over division, hope over despair and service over self-interest. Together, we can build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.”»

Yerima: Leadership Must Remain About the People

As a grassroots political leader and the Leader of the Ona Ara Legislative Council, Yerima's Independence Day message reinforces his public-service emphasis on community representation and people-oriented leadership.

His message comes at a time when Nigerians are reflecting on the country's achievements, challenges and aspirations for the years ahead.

He therefore called for greater collaboration among citizens and leaders at all levels of government, stressing that development becomes more meaningful when it translates into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary people.

Yerima concluded by wishing Nigerians peace, prosperity, unity and renewed confidence in the Nigerian project.

“Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria!” 🇳🇬
